The Student Health Center can accept shipment of medications that require refrigeration.

These are generally ordered/shipped from a specialty pharmacy. Please note that we CANNOT accept non-refrigerated medication deliveries.

The student (or a parent if the student is a minor) must complete, sign and return the Consent Agreement and Release for Acceptance and Storage of a Medication Prescribed by a Non-SHC Provider. We must receive this signed consent agreement before a medication delivery is scheduled.

This consent agreement allows the Student Health Center to receive shipment and store refrigerated medication on behalf of a student and includes important details about arranging shipments of refrigerated medications to our clinic. Our shipping address will be provided to the student once the signed consent agreement is received by our staff.

If shipping refrigerated medications to our clinic:

  • There must be documentation within the package that indicates the name and date of birth of the person for whom the medication is prescribed.
  • When shipments are delivered, one of the nurses at the clinic will unpack the box, confirm that the medication arrived cold, place it in our temperature-monitored refrigerator for storage until pick-up and notify the student of its arrival by secure message.
  • We have limited storage space in our refrigerator so we are unable to store medication for weeks, but we can store it for a few days until a student can come pick up or receive injection support.
  • If the specialty pharmacy needs to contact someone at the receiving facility to verify the shipping address, please direct them to contact the nurse supervisor at 314-935-4129.
